The occupation restricts the street vendors in Jesm Island and prevents them from securing their livelihood

Members of the Jesm Island municipality chased a group of street vendors, and prevented them from placing and selling their goods, under the pretext of avoiding sidewalk crowds and easing the movement of pedestrians.

However, the female vendors declared that they place their goods on both sides of the market road, as the municipality have not designated specific places for them to practice their works.

Activists believe that occupation’s pressure on people in Jesm island has been intolerable. Fishermen and owners of commercial boats are also prevented from practicing their work. And female vendors are facing tremendous difficulties in securing  their families’ sustenance. Hence, this clearly reveals the Iranian regime’s intention in forcing people to migrate, and deliberately replacing them with settlers.
